A former Love Island contestant has announced that she's got engaged to her partner just days before Christmas.

Rosie Williams, now 33 - who appeared on the ITV2 show in 2018 - has revealed that her partner proposed on Tuesday whilst on holiday together in the Maldives. She has since shared footage of the proposal with fans on Instagram.

It shows a seafront villa on the island having been decoratd with white flowers and candles for the occasion. Rosie is seen heading towards her partner, whose identity she has not disclosed, moments before he gets down on one knee.

Rosie is seen wearing a sheer white dress that features floral detailing for the proposal, as well as a pair of white heels. Her fiancé instead opted to wear a biege suit, that included a white t-shirt underneath, for the moment.

The couple are seen kissing after he got down on one knee for the proposal. Rosie's fiancé then appears to place the engagement ring on her finger, before the video ends with the pair cuddled up together whilst on an area of decking.

Alongside the photo, Rosie simply wrote beside a black heart emoji in the accompanying caption: "17.12.2024." Rosie set the video to Kacey Musgrave's cover of the Can't Help Falling in Love, which was first released by the late Elvis Presley. She also tagged venue Velaa Private Island Maldives in it.

The post has amassed more than 8,000 likes on the platform and Rosie was met with well wishes over the news in the comments section. It included reaction from other former islanders, including some who were on the same series.

Hayley Hughes, who was in the villa with Rosie six years ago, wrote in her response: "Congratulations beauty. So happy for you." Whilst their co-star Samira Mighty said in the comments section of the post on the platform: "Beautiful."

Anna Vakili, who appeared on Love Island in 2019, also responded to the news. She wrote in a message to Rosie this week: "Congratulations beautiful." Emma Milton, who was on the show earlier this year, said: "Congratulations."

Rosie is best known for having appeared on the fourth series of Love Island, which aired in 2018. She entered the villa just days into the series - which ended up being won by Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham weeks later during the final.

During her time in the villa, Rosie was only ever coupled-up with Adam Collard, now 29. There was drama in the relationship and Adam later coupled up with Zara McDermott instead, with Rosie leaving the villa single shortly afterwards.
