Jeremy Clarkson opens his pub The Farmer's Dog in August

Rogue visitors to Jeremy Clarkson's The Farmer's Dog pub are cashing in on their visits by flogging glasses from the venue.

Last weekend Jeremy claimed glasses were being stolen from the premises and a number have now shown up on eBay.

The Clarkson’s Farm star confessed he was suffering a series of "total disasters" behind the scenes of his Oxfordshire pub, which were proving costly. This included the pilfering of glasses.

In his Sunday Times column he wrote: "The theft...is extraordinary. People seem to have it in their heads that if they come in for a pint, they are entitled to go home with the glass in which it was served."

"Last Sunday 104 went missing. And that cost must be added to the £100 a day we spend on fuel for the generator, the £400 a week it costs to provide warmth on the terrace and the £27,000 a month we must spend on parking and traffic marshals to keep the council off our back."

It has now been confirmed some of those missing glasses are being avertised for sale on eBay and one appears to have been sold just yesterday (December 23) after being advertised at £19.99.

The Sun reported one listing claiming the the plastic glass was "new" with a starting price of £20.

Another listing on the auction site advertised two half-pint glasses for £24.60.

Clarkson fumed about the finacial issues facing the pub at the weekend explaining that while he was getting customers it was "nigh on impossible" to turn a profit.

"It’s galling to see how much effort is required to make so little money on the farm.

"It’s worse at the pub. The customers are coming. There’s no problem there. But turning their visits into a profit is nigh-on impossible.’

"Behind the scenes, then, everything is a total disaster. But the fact is that when you go there you just wouldn’t know," he said..

Jeremy's efforts to open the pub and make it a success will be featured in the next series of Clarkson's Farm.
