Jeremy Clarkson has heartbreakingly revealed that, amid his current health fears following heart surgery, he is also battling memory loss.

The Clarkson's Farm star is now adamant that he remembers too little about his past to ever write an autobiography. The news comes as Jeremy prepares for the release of his latest Diddly Squat book on October 24.

He revealed earlier in the year that his hearing loss problems have been linked to the possible future development of dementia - and his memory is already proving to be a challenge. "I get asked if I will write an autobiography,” he explained in his column for The Times.

“The answer is no because I can’t remember anything. My memory is shot. I mean, I can remember little snippets from here and there but not enough to write an autobiography.”

Instead, Jeremy would prefer to pass the reins to Top Gear and The Grand Tour producer Andy Wilman to do the honours for him. He revealed that his longtime pal, who worked with him for years, had a "phenomenal" memory of events.

Jeremy's days on The Grand Tour are now over, after he quipped that he was now "too old and fat" to continue his adventures with co-stars Richard Hammond and James May driving supercars around the world.

However, he's certainly racked up some amazing moments while travelling to film the show.

Nowadays, following his announcement over the weekend that he'd had heart surgery, he is continuing a slower pace of life on Diddly Squat Farm, where he films his Amazon Prime TV series with partner Lisa Hogan and sidekick Kaleb Cooper.

Jeremy has revealed that he's had hearing loss for the past 12 years but, as he's a "tolerant guy", he's "coped".

He's been fitted with "snazzy" hearing aids which help him regain his abilities, but he was given the worrying advice that his situation could cause a degenerative brain condition.

"I was told after my most recent medical that hearing loss will double the chance of me catching dementia," he explained.

"My brain is having to use a huge amount of computing power trying to fill in the bits of speech it hasn’t been able to hear.”

However, Jeremy has made a good recovery from heart surgery after having a stent fitted to enhance blood flow.

His most recent struggles arose when a major artery providing blood supply to his heart became "completely" blocked - and, after treatment, he's looking forward to the future.
