Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola suffered a “devastating” pregnancy loss.
The “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” star revealed her miscarriage in Thursday’s episode of the MTV reality show.
“This has been a very long process,” she said of conceiving after in vitro fertilization. “It’s been a lot of shots. It’s been a lot of hormones.”
Giancola, 37, called “the thought of even being pregnant … such a magical moment for me,” adding, “To have that taken away — it’s devastating for me.”
The reality star praised her “positive and uplifting” fiancé, Justin May, for his support during the tough time.
“He’s so special to me, and I just am so thankful for him,” she gushed to viewers. “He’s been by my side through this whole thing. I just love him.”

Elsewhere in the episode, May got down on one knee and proposed to Giancola.
The couple went public with their engagement in March, with the bride-to-be writing via Instagram, “Life Update: Fiancé. The easiest question I’ve ever answered.”
In a post of his own, May wrote, “She said yes! Can’t wait to Marry my best friend! Love you so much babe! ❤️💍 can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you!”
In Thursday’s episode, Giancola called herself the “luckiest girl in the world” after dreaming of the moment for her “entire life.”
She continued, “Justin coming into my life made my life a million times better. He is just everything I could ever ask for in a man. He’s patient, he’s supportive, and I just love and adore him so much.”
The MTV personality was previously engaged to Christian Biscardi from 2019 to 2021.
She also dated her “Jersey Shore” co-star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro on and off from 2009 to 2014.
Her relationship with May began in August 2022.
Two years later, Giancola spoke on Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast about her and May’s plans to start a family with the help of IVF.
“I’m still on this journey, and I’m still going through it,” she said in September. “It’s a difficult journey, but it’s nice to hear other’s people’s stories and … having the support there is just really, really nice.”
Giancola was “nervous” to share this process on camera since “some people don’t believe in IVF.”
However, she decided to talk about it in the hopes of “someone else relat[ing]” or finding “help” in her story.
