The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jessi Ngatikaura called out costar Taylor Frankie Paul after she slammed her MomTok friends for not supporting her at the CMA Awards.
The drama began when Taylor, 30, took to her Instagram Stories to complain that none of her other MomTok collaborators reacted to her appearance at the CMA Awards on November 20. “Not a single one of my girls from Momtok said anything on my CMA post, such a big night for me,” she wrote alongside a selfie, which was reshared by TikTok user @morganptalks. “Awkward.”
After Taylor made the post, the TikTok user explained that Jessi, 32, clapped back by responding to her Instagram post about attending the awards show by insisting that she supported her throughout the experience.
“Repost the cma’s TikTok of you. Post you on my story. Text you all day to congratulate and hype you up. Like this post,” Jessi wrote, adding checkmark emojis next to each item she listed to explain all the ways she support Taylor ahead of the awards show. “Free clip ins for filming and events like this. Free hair for your mom.”
Jessi continued, “S–t I forgot to comment even though I’m on vacation with my family and trying not to scroll too much. I’m the worst friend!! Forgive me queen Taylor, I’ll bow down now.”
According to @morganptalks, other MomTok stars began to comment on Taylor’s post after she issued the complaint. “The love of my life,” Mayci J. Neeley commented, while Mikayla Matthews jokingly chimed in, “Please let me stay in MomTok.”
Taylor hasn’t directly responded to the backlash from her costars, though she seemingly reacted to the drama in an Instagram Stories post shared on Monday, November 25. “Thank goodness for therapy today is all I gotta say,” she wrote alongside a selfie.
MomTok is a community of Mormon mothers who share content about parenting, family life and motherhood on TikTok. Many of the stars featured on the platform appeared on season 1 of Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, and the group is set to return for season 2.
After rising to fame on the reality show, Taylor made her CMAs debut during the 2024 awards show. She posed for photos on the red carpet in a sparkling metallic gold dress, which she accessorized with heels. Meanwhile, Taylor styled her brunette hair in voluminous curls.
Following the experience, Taylor took to Instagram to gush about the awards show and share an inside look into the evening with her fans. “Not sure how I got on stage at the CMA’s, but one of the best experiences ever,” she captioned a photo of herself posing on the red carpet, as well as a snapshot of her presenting with Mitchell Tenpenny and a photo with her mom, Liann May.
While it took time for her costars to comment on the post, many of Taylor’s followers hyped her up soon after she uploaded the photos. “Girl what???? That is so cool!” one person commented, and another chimed in, “Look at you goooo.”
