John Krasinski has been named PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive for 2024. Fans know Krasinski for his memorable roles, from the fun-loving, prankster Jim Halpert in The Office to a hardened CIA operative in Jack Ryan, and even as a self-sacrificing husband in A Quiet Place.
But for the 45-year-old, life isn't about his on-screen personas-it's about being a hands-on dad, streaming true crime documentaries, and cherishing bedtime routines with his kids.
"Just immediate blackout, actually. Zero thoughts," he said. "Other than maybe I'm being punked. That's not how I wake up, thinking, 'Is this the day that I'll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?' And yet it was the day you guys did it. You guys have really raised the bar for me."
His wife's reaction
Krasinski currently lives in Brooklyn with his wife of 14 years, actress Emily Blunt, 41, and their two daughters, Hazel and Violet. He chuckled as he recalled Blunt's reaction to the big news, saying that she was "very excited".
Krasinski's career has taken him from sitcom stardom on TV show The Office to co-writing, directing, and starring in A Quiet Place alongside Blunt, a move that paid off, leading to multiple sequels.
To take on his action-packed role as Jack Ryan, he trained extensively and quickly became known for his dedication to the role. Now, with his recent movie IF, which he wrote, produced and directed, Krasinski is solidifying himself as a director and filmmaker as well.
