Josh Safdie and Benny Safdie are returning to the realm of underground luxury sales.

The “Uncut Gems” filmmakers are set to executive produce Peacock series “Superfakes,” which centers on a small-time Chinatown luxury-counterfeit dealer who enters a dangerous black market underworld in order to fund a life of suburban respectability for her family.

“Beef” Emmy Award-winning co-executive producer Alice Ju is the creator, writer, showrunner, and executive producer of “Superfakes.” Ju continues her partnership with Peacock alongside her work on fellow crime drama series “Poker Face.”

“Superfakes” will be executive produced by Howard Klein (“The Office,” “Parks and Recreation”) and Olivia Gerke (“Fantasmas”) for 3 Arts, Ronald Bronstein, and Eli Bush.

“Superfakes” hails from A24 and UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group. A24, Josh Safdie, and Benny Safdie have collaborated on a slew of projects, including acclaimed Showtime series “The Curse.”

Josh Safdie is next directing “Marty Supreme” for A24. Timothée Chalamet, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Tyler, The Creator star in the ping-pong feature. “Marty Supreme” is Josh Safdie’s first film since “Uncut Gems”; he did direct an Adam Sandler Netflix stand-up comedy special, titled “Adam Sandler: Love You,” in 2024. Josh Safdie cowrote the script for “Marty Supreme” with frequent producing partner Ronald Bronstein, who also is an executive producer on “Superfakes.”

Meanwhile, Benny Safdie is helming “The Smashing Machine” with Dwayne Johnson portraying MMA fighter Mark Kerr. He also will make a cameo in “Happy Gilmore 2” alongside “Uncut Gems” alum Sandler.

“He’s going to have a juicy part in that,” Sandler teased to IndieWire. “So it’s fun to be [back] with these guys.”

Sandler also said that the slated sports pic, which will include scenes shot at a live baseball game, presumably MLB, was co-written by Benny Safdie and Josh Safdie, might still be in the works. Sandler, Chalamet, and Megan Thee Stallion were rumored to star in the untitled Netflix film that Josh Safdie was going to direct on his us. The feature was set in the world of sports memorabilia but was put on hold due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes.

“It’s something that we talked about today,” Sandler told IndieWire. “It’s hopefully going to come back. It’s crazy, it’s a cool script, very long. Josh doesn’t stop working hard.”
