ASAP Rocky's attorney Joe Tacopina got into a heated argument with ASAP Relli—real name Terell Ephron—on the fourth day of the rapper's assault trial.
As reported by TMZ, Tacopina cross-examined Relli on Thursday, Jan. 30 over his recent testimony about the alleged shooting in 2021, among other things. Tacopina repeatedly asked Relli if he heard what he said and if it was truthful, but he was left confused by the line of questioning. Day four of the trial is linked below.
"In November 2021, you told people that you were a millionaire, is that correct?" Tacopina asked Relli, who said he didn't understand why he was asking him that question. "Yes, no, I don't know," he replied. "I don't know, it's been so long, I can tell people whatever I want. If I'm a millionaire, not a millionaire, like, what? I'm not a millionaire, but what has that got to do with this case?"
At one point, an Instagram Stories post from Relli was shown in the courtroom. "Why are you showing my Instagram? I'm already getting death threats," Relli said. "People threatening my daughter. Like, what's going on here?" When Tacopina asked him who threatened him, he said, "The whole world because of what you're saying." He claimed that he had been painted by Rocky's legal team as an "extortionist" and became increasingly agitated before the judge told him to just answer the questions so they could move along.
Relli has accused his former friend and collaborator Rocky of shooting him following a tense encounter in 2021. In his testimony, he said the friendship between the two soured before the alleged shooting. When they met outside a hotel in Hollywood, he said Rocky showed up with ASAP Illaz and ASAP Twelvyy and they got into an argument. "He pointed the gun at me and said, 'I'll kill you right now, pussy,'" Relli said.
On Wednesday, a screenshot of an alleged text exchange between Rocky and Relli was shown in court. In the purported messages, Relli told Rocky the altercation was captured on surveillance footage. "Now u trynna extort n***as talkin bout i shot at u n shot u 4 times and all type of nonsense, u a phony and u dont have the best intentions, stop texting me n stop calling my manager and call police if i 'shot' @ u u weirdo," Rocky allegedly wrote in response.
Earlier this week, ASAP Rocky received support from his partner Rihanna who made an appearance in court in Los Angeles on Wednesday. RiRi was reportedly seen seated next to Rocky’s mother and at one point was spotted next to the rapper's sister.
