Katy Perry Nearly Struck by Sparks While Signing Autographs for Fans

A video captured the moment when Katy Perry was nearly hit by electrical sparks while signing autographs for fans after filming Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday.

Following her appearance on the late-night talk show, Perry was making her way down a barricade when someone accidentally touched a transformer.

The video below shows sparks flying toward artist as she ducks, bringing to mind the lyrics of her 2010 hit "Fireworks." Perry reacted quickly and appeared to be unharmed.

"She was fine," an eyewitness told Entertainment Tonight. "As soon as it sparked, they pulled her away and put her in the car. She rolled down the window and kept talking to fans."

According to TMZ, a person in the crowd was struck by the sparks, causing a section of their coat to catch fire. No serious injuries were reported.

Perry appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote her upcoming The Lifetimes Tour, which kicks off on April 23 in Mexico City and concludes on Nov. 7 in France.
