Kanye West fails to appear to testify following complaint by former security guard who refused to cut off his dreadlocks

Kanye West was a no-show at a deposition in Los Angeles as he fights claims of racial discrimination and unfair practise by a former security guard, as the 47-year-old flees to Japan with his wife in the latest legal battle.

Benjamin Deshon Provo claims the rapper slammed him for refusing to cut off his dreads and later fired him, whilst he insisted other colleagues and children also did the same, during an incident at the Donda Academy in 2021.

Interestingly, it is claimed he did not tell the white staff and members to do so. Provo goes as far as to argue he didn't even raise his voice at white staff and so he believes the claims relate to his religion as a member of Islam.

West currently denies the claims on the grounds that, "defendants are informed and believe, and based on such information and belief, allege that Defendants were justified in doing any and/or all of the acts alleged in the Complaint."

West to be compelled to appear for testimony

He has reportedly not been in the Californian metropolis for months and faces lots of ongoing legal battles, including accusations of rape, as the mother of his children becomes increasingly concerned for their wellbeing.

And despite the legal action having begun in April 2024, he was ordered to appear at a deposition in LA to provide a testimony under oath, but was nowhere to be seen as he was found 5,000 miles away in Tokyo along with Bianca Censori but that might change soon.

"Defendant Kanye West has unilaterally failed to appear for his scheduled deposition on October 28, 2024," court documents said, as per the US Sun. "It is crucial that Provo's counsel obtain this deposition in a timely manner to ascertain all relevant, pertinent facts in this case to allow Provo to fully prosecute his claims and prepare for trial.

"Provo will also move for an order awarding sanctions against Defendants in the amount of $1,760 to compensate Provo for his time and expenses in litigating the instant motion."
