Kate Garraway showed signs of relief and excitement as she filmed the moment she was handed a two-year contract with Smooth Radio.
The 57 year old star, who is a presenter on Good Morning Britain, has now secured herself an impressive income for the next 24 months with Smooth Radio, amid a £700,000 tax bill. The mother of two had been burdened with the staggering tax bill after she closed down her late husband, Derek Draper's company.
This now means Kate will continue to present her morning show until at least 2026. In a video clip posted on Instagram, Kate can be seen being approached by a member of her team, with a contract in their hand. Fans can then see Kate ask: "How long for?"
After finding out that the contract was for two years, Kate then quipped: "You fools, you fools!". "That's really, really good, where do I sign? Sign it quickly before they take it back. You're stuck with me now for another two years, thank you for listening." Derek sadly passed away earlier this year following a four battle with the long-term effects of Covid.

On the November 14 show, Kate was told off while she was interviewing for I'm A Celebrity star Babatunde Aleshe. When the comedian appeared in the Australian jungle, avid viewers will remember his fear of heights to the point where he had to pull out of one of the challenges.
Kate had appeared on the same show in 2019 so was keen to have an in-depth discussion about the challenges and tasks. When discussing heights, Kate said: "When they get to the glass, the hole in this high rise building. It's right back in our prehistoric brain, in our lizard brain they call it, that we should fear height. Lizard brain is what they call this."
But through her ear piece, Kate was told to keep quiet and allow Babatunde to talk. Revealing what bosses had said Kate told viewers: "We're going off on a tangent. The lizard brain is your hardwired brain. They just told me to let you talk, it's a fair point."
As the new series of I'm A Celebrity kicks off in three days, celebrities have already been spotted arriving in Australia. Tulisa, who tried to disguise her appearance with a grey hoodie and black mask, spoke to waiting photographers and press.
Stars confirmed to enter the jungle include Strictly's Oti Mabuse, Coronation Street star Alan Halsall, youtube's GK Barry, Loose Women panellist Jane Moore, TV and radio DJ Melvin Odoom and McFly singer Danny Jones. Also, former Love Island star Maura Higgins and Rev Richard Coles are also set to face their fears in the upcoming series.
