Kim Kardashian brought back her all-too-brief pop star era for a new take on Eartha Kitt's "Santa Baby" — one that fans can't wrap their heads around.
The Kardashians star, 44, teamed up with brother-in-law Travis Barker for her version of the holiday hit, with the Blink-182 drummer producing the song, which the Skims founder sings in a breathy voice. While keeping in line with Kitt's seductive tone of the song, it's the chaotic music video for the track that has everyone talking.
The video, which has a '90s VHS quality to it, features Kardashian clad in a platinum bob wig and leg warmers crawling through a dirty, crowded house party — an eyebrow-raising celebration that features everything from a live nativity scene (complete with a real donkey) in the kitchen to a nun splayed out on the floor, seemingly possessed by the devil, repeating the same phrase over and over. Add to that the jump-scare of a completely masked person knocking heavily at the door, a woman swimming in a fish tank, and an unblinking man attempting to trim a Christmas tree with garden shears, and you have only half of the chaos in the footage.
As for the short's ending, Kardashian offers up an unexpected Christmas twist. As she attempts to snake her way up to Santa's lap in the final shot, the camera pans up to reveal Macaulay Culkin as Santa — and he's apparently been the one filming the whole thing on a Camcorder.
Fans immediately took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the music video.
"Did I just do acid?" one person asked, while another questioned, "What in the methamphetamine Christmas blasphemy is this."
"I'm a really weird b**** and I'm trying to find the art in this but I am grasping," another quipped.
Others were taken aback by the video's "demonic" aspects.
"Am I the only one getting demonic vibes....," another user wrote.
"I thought you are Christian Kim and this video is blasphemous. Smh! 🤦🏽♀️," penned a fan.
"This is disturbing," another agreed. "And she claims she is Christian. This is absurd.😮."
Others still were simply confused, with people commenting variations of "girl what the f*** is this" and "Kim what are you doing."
Khloé Kardashian, for her part, couldn't resist making a NSFW double entendre in the comments of the post, a joke that has so far received more than 2,700 likes.
