Kim Kardashian is suffering the loss of someone she's known her entire life, a friend she refers to as a "lifer" along with a few select friends she has been close with since childhood.
The SKIMS founder's longtime friend Lindsay May has passed away following a battle with cancer. A source told Daily Mail that the loss has been "really hard on Kim because she had known Lindsay since she was a child growing up in Beverly Hills."
"They are only in their forties, not their nineties, so it is difficult to process," the source continued. "Kim has found comfort with her circle of friends, which she calls her 'lifers' and with her sisters who knew Lindsay."
Kardashian was spotted with two of her "lifers" on Wednesday during a trip to Mexico, which could be a trip to honor their fallen friend. By her side for the vacation was Alison Statter and Simone Harouche.
May was the co-founder of Mayflower Entertainment, a consulting agency that "connects brands with entertainment and pop culture partners to maximize advertising impact." While many of Kim's childhood friends had a much more modest life, Lindsay must have understood the entertainment industry a lot more, working deals for luxury labels like Gucci.
On January 5, Simone shared a photo of Lindsay along with a carousel of other memories, honoring their friend after she passed. In the comments, Kim offered her support and ensured Harouche that she was feeling the same pain over the loss.
"I felt this so deep. I love you so much," Kardashian wrote in the comments, adding a hashtag for her lifers. Her sister Kourtney Kardashian also commented, adding, "This made me cry. I love you."
As for Simone's entry, she captioned the tribute: "The last 2 months have been a blur. Here’s what I have to show for all of it. in no particular order. My world stopped on Nov 2nd. you took a little of me with you, but thank God I took some of you. a beautiful sunset took on a whole new meaning. reminisced a lot and the 90s were f***ing fun."
She continued, "Went on some beautiful adventures. had a lot of family time. I said yes to more. I experienced what it means when people talk about the power of community (very cliche, but very true). took a very long break from Instagram. celebrated birthdays, holidays, friendship and a new year."
Kim has showcased photos of her very close inner circle of friends she grew up with both on social media and on her reality show, The Kardashians. Kim and her "lifers"--Allison, Simone, Zoe, Lindsay, Sarah, Ashley-- all attended Marymount High School in Bel Air, California at the time.
