In a rare move, Kristin Cavallari shared a photo of her 10-year-old son's face — the first image of his face since he was a baby.

As fans know, The Hills alum, 38, has — for years — only posted pictures of her three children with their faces obscured. (Cavallari shares sons Camden, 12, Jaxon, 10, and daughter Saylor, 9, with ex-husband Jay Cutler.)

Sometimes, that meant only sharing photos of the kids from behind, or finding clever ways to block out their faces — whether through emojis, Halloween masks, or even a giant birthday balloon (as was the case for Jaxon's 8th birthday in 2022).

However, Cavallari made an exception to that rule on her Instagram Story on Tuesday, January 28 — sharing a photo of Jaxon coloring in a "Vote Jaxon For Mayor" poster. Jaxon, who was wearing a gray Nike tee and had his blond hair buzzed, looked deep in concentration as he filled in the sign with blue marker. (Though the Story has since expired, Page Six shared a screenshot of the photo.)

While this was the first time in a decade that the Laguna Beach alum showed her middle child's face, she decided to post her other children's faces for the first time last year — sharing a video with a pre-teen Camden in September 2024 and uploading a picture of Saylor at a Nashville Predators hockey game in December, just one month ago.

When concerned fans spoke out after Cavallari first shared Camden's face, the Uncommon James founder confirmed she made the conscious decision to do so.

"I appreciate everyone DMing me telling me that I showed Camden's face," she said at the time. "I know. He's a little bit older now and he wants to be on social media, which is the only reason why I showed him.

Cavallari further explained that "the only reason I haven't shown my kids is because I wanted to give them the choice when they got older."

In Camden's case, she said, "And he's 12 going on 28 so he is mature enough to make that decision now!"
