Kylie Jenner debuts unrecognisable new look as fans beg her to 'stop with the fillers'

Reality TV star Kylie Jenner debuted a new look as she stepped out in New York City on Monday.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, 27, raised a few eyebrows thanks to her taut new appearance at the 2024 CFDA Awards at the American Museum of Natural History - with some commentators questioning if the mum-of-two can actually raise her new short brows.

Kylie, who is currently dating Timothee Chalamet, is no stranger to surgery rumours. The Kylie Cosmetics founder denied her full lips were the result of a tweakment for many years, before admitting she enjoys a touch of filler. Last year, the beauty mogul revealed she had a boob job at the age of 19, shortly before welcoming daughter Stormi into the world.

But the 27-year-old is still standing firm on denying having any plastic surgery on her face and is adamant no filler or Botox has been injected into her face. "I'm not against plastic surgery but as of now, I only have fillers. Like I've said before, it has always been a huge insecurity of mine and I wanted to make a change," Kylie previously wrote on her website.

Following her appearance in New York on Monday, many on social media are wondering if The Kardashians star's stance on facial fillers and Botox has changed. "The fact that Kylie Jenner is younger than me and already ruined her face with experimental fillers is bonkers to me," one Twitter (X) user penned.

"Kylie Jenner looks so awful that filler & botox destroyed her face," another brutally wrote on the social media site, with one tweeting Kylie directly and begging: "Stop with the fillers You look old." However, many rushed to defend Kylie from criticism and reminded others of her past comments about her self-image.

In a June episode of The Kardashians, Kylie spoke with her sisters about the conversations about her supposed use of fillers after Paris Fashion Week. She told her siblings: "It’s a miracle I still have confidence and can still look in the mirror and still think I'm pretty." She then began to cry as she told Kendall Jenner: "I went on a journey last year dissolving half of my lip filler.

"I hate even having this conversation over and over and over again. It feels like it’s a waste of my breath because I think, with me, it is never going to change. People have been talking about my looks since I was 12 or 13 before I even got lip filler. I hear nasty things about myself all the time. I think it's just after 10 years of hearing about it, it just gets exhausting

Kylie's appearance at Paris Fashion Week last month sparked a flurry of comments from fans, with some suggesting that the star looked like she had 'aged'. While many were in favour of her new look, others felt she appeared significantly older and attributed this to cosmetic procedures. One fan shared a clip of Kylie on Reddit, commenting: "All that work she had done really aged her. I would also like to say I think she looks beautiful just a lot older than her age."

Dr Elif Benar from Dr Elif Clinic explained to the Mirror that dissolving all filler at once can lead to sudden changes in facial volume, resulting in loose or sagging skin, especially if the skin has been stretched due to overfilling. She added: "Gradually dissolving the filler allows the skin to adjust more naturally, minimizing the risk of unwanted changes in facial contour. It also provides an opportunity to address specific areas of concern and avoid an abrupt change in appearance."

Although the 27 year old hasn't publicly discussed having a facelift, Dr Elif stated that undergoing such a procedure at a young age is "generally not recommended" unless there is a specific medical or anatomical reason. Facelifts are typically designed to tackle significant signs of ageing such as sagging skin - something uncommon for those in their 20s.

An expert has warned that younger individuals opting for facelifts might face scarring, potential nerve damage and "long-term changes" in skin elasticity. They cautioned, "Additionally, having a surgical lift too early may result in the need for additional procedures in the future as natural ageing continues, possibly leading to an unnatural appearance."

For those young people considering facial enhancements, the expert recommends non-surgical treatments such as fillers, lasers or radiofrequency-based therapies "to address minor concerns and maintain a youthful look." However, they stressed the importance of moderation with fillers to avoid the "overfilled" look, also known as "pillow face". Dr Elif highlighted: "This occurs when the natural contours of the face are distorted, leading to a puffy or bloated look."
