Rock star Liam Gallagher has responded to Bring Me The Horizon's bold cover of an Oasis classic.
The Sheffield-born rock quartet recently shocked fans by releasing a rather unexpected cover of one of the band's biggest tracks, Wonderwall. Released on January 29 as part of Spotify's Singles series, the group, formed in 2004 put their own distinctive heavy metal spin on the single, originally released in 1995.
The original version of the hit hears older sibling Noel Gallagher play an acoustic guitar, which has been changed up for a mega electric riff, while frontman and Drop Dead owner Oli Sykes puts his power vocals to the limits. Drummer Mat Nicholls uses intense power to deliver killer energy throughout the track.
Liam, 52, has now taken to X, formerly known as Twitter to deliver his four-word verdict on the track – and fans may be surprised. In view of his 3.8 million followers, he exclaimed: "I f***ing LOVE it." Liam later went on to clarify that while some believed he would have been "p***ed off" by Bring Me's cover, he was far from it.

Their own post on social media has received praise from fans who couldn't contain their excitement after hearing the release. "Masterpiece," said one. A second one commented: "I absolutely love the Wonderwall cover." "Thank y'all for the gift. This made my entire week," said a third.
Meanwhile, a fourth went on to write: "That's so f***ing awesome, love you guys." While a fifth said: "As a big fan of Oasis and yours, I'm so proud of you guys." The band also recreated the video, with each member sitting in a straight line, with bassist Matt Kean sitting to their left reading a newspaper.

BRIT Award winners and Grammy nominated Bring Me recently played their biggest show to date, playing to 45,000 fans at the Allianz Parque stadium in São Paulo. No strangers to pushing the boundaries, their set saw them incorporate everything from AI and AR, as well as a new paradigm which could be described as "Generative Augmented Reality."
But that's not all, later this year, they will head back to Reading and Leeds Festivals to headline the main stage across both sites between August 23 and August 24 for the second time. Speaking about their upcoming set, the band said: "Now it feels a little more exciting and like there’s a little more pressure because there are no ifs-and-buts about it.
"We're the last band on that day and once again we've got something to prove." That's not all they have coming up though, in March, they're up for yet another BRIT Award for Best Group – one year after taking home the Best Alt/Rock Act at the 2023 ceremony.
