Liam Payne and his friend Roger Nores exchanged several text messages before his shocking death last month.

The former One Direction star fell to his death from a third-floor balcony of the CasaSur Hotel while on holiday in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He spent some time with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, before she returned to America. Liam remained in the south American country with his pal Roger.

Liam had been close to friend Roger Nores before his death and the duo reportedly travelled to Argentina together. They had been spotted earlier in October at One Direction star Niall Horan's concert in the country. It was recently claimed that Liam stayed at the CasaSur Hotel alone while Roger stayed elsewhere.

According to new documents obtained by TMZ, Liam sent a text to Roger on the morning of his death. At 10pm the night before, the singer reportedly ordered four bottles of whiskey and then five more bottles at 6:36am the next day. It has been claimed at 9:32am on the day of the tragedy, Liam texted Roger: "Can you get 6 grams?" which presumably referred to cocaine.

Later in the day, at 4:25 PM, Roger reportedly texted Liam: "How are you?" but Liam didn't respond to the message. Hotel staff had called the emergency services around this time - with audio from the call revealing a staff member telling the emergency operator: "We have a guest who is intoxicated with drugs and alcohol. And, well, when he’s conscious, he’s breaking everything in the room. We need someone to be sent, please."

The operator asked: "You said under the influence of alcohol and drugs, sir?" And the staff member said: "Yes, correct. And we need someone to be sent urgently because, well… I don’t know if the guest’s life is at risk. He’s in a room that has… that has a balcony. We’re a little afraid that he’ll do something that puts him.." The operator then asked if the guest was a permanent guest, and the member of staff replied: "No, no, he’s only been here for two or three days."

Shortly after the call was made, workers at the hotel heard a loud sound in the courtyard and his body was discovered shortly after 5pm local time. After his death, local authorities ruled out suicide and said the singer was most likely in a state of "semi or total unconsciousness" at the time of his fall.
