Liam Payne's family, friends and fans are in mourning after the tragic death of the former One Direction star, who fell from his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The 31-year-old singer's funeral is now expected to take place in November.

An update on the late star's autopsy has now been provided, with his father Geoff jetting out to Argentina to identify his son's body and organise his return to the UK.

The wait for the late star's body could be between 10 to 15 days as toxicology tests are awaited, according to local sources and The Mirror.

Once finalised, his body will return to the UK for the funeral, potentially at the start of next month.

Clarín, a prominent Argentinian newspaper, cited British Embassy officials, sharing: "We are supporting Liam Payne's family and are in contact with local authorities."

The updates follow the preliminary autopsy results which point to "multiple traumas" as well as "internal and external bleeding" following the fatal fall, being the cause of death.

Further investigations including toxicological and anatomical-pathological studies of his blood and urine are underway to check for any possible drug use.
