Some of the returning Love Island : All Stars are "too old" for the show, says one former islander.

The second series of All Stars returns tonight (January 13) with Maya Jama back again as the host. Last week, the Love Island: All Stars line-up was announced, with a batch of familiar faces heading back to the villa.

Among them are the likes of India Reynolds, 34, and Marcel Somerville, 39, who enters as the oldest contestant ever after the breakdown of his marriage. This time around almost half of the starting line-up are in their 30s – a stark contrast to a regular series of the show.

On the other end is Catherina Agbaje, from series 10, who is 24. Gemma Owen's ex Luca Bish, 25, is also in there bringing the average age down a little, while most others are 28 or 29.

And, according to one former islander, some of them are just "too old" for the show. Frankie Foster, who turns 29 next week, made it clear he has no plan to return to the show.

Speaking on behalf of Betfred, he said: "I can't get my head around the idea of going in as a 29-year-old – it would almost be comedic having those 'chats' and conversations with people.

"TV is for everyone and anyone, but I do want to say that some of the cast are too old to be having those nonsense conversations, and certainly too old to be getting immersed in the Love Island 'little chats'."

Frankie isn't the only former islander to swear off going back on the show due to age either. Fan-favourite Ovie Soko, who dated All Star India Reynolds during their series, said absolutely not.

As one of the most popular stars from the show, fans have been desperate to have him back on screens. But he said on X, formerly Twitter: "I'm never going on Love Island All Stars, love the show but I'm 33 guys. I am your uncle now."

As well as India and Marcel, there are three other 30-something All Stars. They are Scott Thomas, 36, and Elma Pazar and Gabby Allen, both 32.

It's also heavily rumoured that former winner Ekin-Su Culculoglu will be heading back as a bombshell. At 30, she floats around the middle of the pack age wise.

Of course, with each year, the Love Island legends get older. So having an older cast for All Stars is inevitable, it would seem.
