Lucy Mecklenburgh and Ryan Thomas made the most of their half term holiday by taking a break from the gloomy UK weather and jetting off to Turkey with their two young kids. The couple, who met on the second series of Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls in 2017, spent their family break at the all-inclusive Cullinan Belek in Antalya on the south coast.
Former TOWIE star Lucy, 33, kept her social media followers up to date with their trip at luxury resort, which boasts a kids' club, five-star restaurants, waterpark, a spa, and its own 36-hole golf course. It was no doubt a much-needed break for the couple, with Lucy usually busy with her fitness app, RWL, and her growing property development portfolio, and former Coronation Street star Ryan, who turned 40 in June, training for his first HYROX fitness event in Sweden next month.
Poking fun at the joys of spending a week with Roman and Lilah, Lucy joked afterwards: "Good bye half term it’s been a pleasure..…now get back to school we’ve had enough!".
The couple got engaged in June 2019 but have yet to announce any date of a wedding. During Ryan's winning stint on Dancing on Ice earlier this year he joked that they would start planning once they "stop having children", and their family can walk down the aisle with them.
Cheekily, he also joked that Lucy might have been dropping hints that she wanted to set a date by wearing white to watch him on the rink.
He said: “She turned up in a wedding outfit to DoI and I said, ‘Darling this isn’t your moment.’” Joking aside, Ryan credited his fiancé for being the "hero" that helped him emerge victorious from the ice show., saying: “The biggest hero in all of this is Lucy. She gave me the chance to do this, and looking after the children at home is probably a harder job. I am very lucky that she has given me this freedom to be able to do this job.”
It's been a busy few years for the pair with the births of Roman and Lilah, and a big move last year from Lucy's hometown in Essex up to Manchester, where Ryan's from.
"There was never a plan. It was just the way it worked out," he said previously. "It was daunting for Lucy to move up to Manchester and even though I'm from here, the area we live now I've never spent any time in. But I have all of my family on my doorstep and family is the most important thing to me. My niece and nephews come over and the kids get to grow up together."
