Erika Jayne feels that Sutton Stracke and Garcelle Beauvais should be sharing more of their real lives on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
While admitting that Dorit Kemsley, 48, was “activated” amid filming on season 14, sharing her thoughts on Kyle Richards‘ potential exit from the show, and addressing the cast, including Kathy Hilton, 65, and newbies Bozoma Saint John, 47, and Jennifer Tilly, 66, Erika, 53, offered a dating update and confessed that seeing certain cast members withhold their true lives made her bitter.
“I feel as if … if I was able to lay it all out there, you should be able to as well,” Erika stated during an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “I’d like for Sutton and Garcelle to reveal their lives. I just feel as if, you know, nothing is as it appears.”
According to Erika, she feels that Sutton, 53, and Garcelle, 57, play to what the fans wanted to see, rather than the truth. That said, she admitted that she and Sutton are in a “decent” place in their relationship.
“We text back and forth. I’ve never had a better relationship with Sutton. And with Garcelle, as well,” Erika revealed. “I’ve actually said I would love to work on my relationship with both of them.”
Currently, Erika is closest to Kyle, 55, and Dorit, 48, who went to war with one another throughout season 14.
“It was kind of challenging for a minute. I did the best I could,” Erika shared of navigating her friends’ feud. “I think that when someone is going through the worst time of their life on television in front of the public, I personally give them a pass. I did it. Not that Kyle was ever called a villain, but Kyle has gone through [a separation], now Dorit is going through it. When your marriage is falling apart or unwinding you’re very raw and very emotional.”
Although Erika did not think Dorit was the villain of the season, she agreed Dorit was “activated.”
“That’s an understatement,” she noted. “Dorit is going through a separation and when you do that and you do it on camera, in the public, and people are picking through it, it’s a lot of pressure.”
While Kyle recently suggested that Dorit had acted out against her and refused to reconcile because she felt it would help her maintain her role on RHOBH amid demotion rumors, Erika “somewhat” disagreed.
“I think that Dorit is in a really tough place and it’s weighing on her heavily and she is giving her entire unfiltered opinion on everything,” she explained.
Amid her ongoing feud with Dorit, Kyle nearly quit her role on RHOBH during a tense scene with her castmates.
“I’ve known Kyle for 10 years now. I’ve never seen her that upset. I think it’s a combination of everything. Life is overwhelming at times and she felt completely overwhelmed,” Erika said of the moment in question.
Then, when she was asked if she felt the show could go on without Kyle, Erika said, “I think all franchises of housewives, no matter what city, will survive no matter who comes or who goes.”
“The show always goes on,” she stated.
Of the current cast, Erika revealed she was “excited” to see Kathy’s return since she came back “in a different way” following her outburst against Kyle in Aspen.
“She and Kyle are having a great time and it’s nice to see that,” she explained.
As for Bozoma, Erika said Boze “brings a lot of power.”
“She’s a self-made woman. She has an incredible personal story. It’s really intense. She’s done really well in corporate America but she’s also this very charismatic, loving person,” she gushed.
“[Jennifer is] really good too,” she continued. “Jennifer Tilly is so fascinating to watch. She’s one of the sweetest human beings and she’s just so, there’s just something interesting about her that I find myself just staring at her. She’s very unpredictable. She’s very smart. Besides being an Oscar-nominated actress, which is a big deal, she’s also a professional poker player.”
Regarding her own life, Erika said she’s not yet finalized her divorce from Thomas Girardi, 85.
“[I] have not finalized the divorce. Tom will be sentenced next month and then who knows? Being divorced is the least of my concerns at this point. I’m out there. I’m single and I should be having fun,” she stated.
Then, regarding the possibility of remarrying, Erika made it clear she was opposed.
“I don’t need to be contractually bound to another man ever. That’s not something I need to do,” she declared.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14 airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
