Pop sensation Mabel is set to wed music businessman Preye Crooks after he surprised her for getting down on one knee in front of her closest friends and family.
The 28-year-old Finders Keepers singer - who is the daughter of iconic Swedish singer Neneh Cherry and British music producer Cameron McVey - has been in a relationship with Sony Music executive Preye since November 2021. But now the couple are set to call each other husband and wife after Preye - who is the son of BBC football pundit and ex Man United player Garth Crooks - proposed to her at a surprise ceremony.
Mabel was left speechless when her beau asked her to be his wife - and was even more shocked when she looked up to see 70 of her nearest and dearest looking down at her amid the surprise proposal. Preye's sister, TK, has revealed that she was instrumental in helping the romantic moment come together - and has been sharing highlights from the evening on social media.
Sharing photographs and video clips via Instagram and TikTok, TK amusingly revealed: "I take all credit for this. My brother was useless. Direct all compliments to me." And sharing secrets of the proposal, she added: "We surprised her with 70 of her closest friends and family secretly watching her get engaged."

It was very clear from the start, just how deeply you felt for her. With any and everything you did, you put her first and I learnt a lot from you in that sense and I’m blessed to have seen your relationship blossom and flourish, To happily ever after for you both."
Mabel proudly flashed her dazzling engagement ring as she posed for photographs and video moments with her friends and family. Wearing a light pink coloured satin halterneck dress, the singer looked overwhelmed with happy emotion as she spent her night celebrating.
In 2020, the year before she started dating her future husband, Mabel released her Top 10 single Boyfriend - and explained to her fans that women could still retain an attitude even if they wanted to settle down with someone special. Publicising her single via social media at the time, the BRIT Award-winning singer wrote: "Wanting someone in your life doesn’t mean you can’t still be dat b**chh”.
When Mabel and Preye's relationship first began, a source told The Sun: “They met through work, but it’s already going from strength to strength. They both work in the industry and have loads of common interests, he’s not threatened by her success and gets her hectic life-style. They’re a great match.”
