macOS Sequoia 15.2 beta 1 is now available for developers. It brings some of the most highly anticipated new Apple Intelligence features to the Mac, including ChatGPT integration, Image Playground, and more. Here’s everything new.

macOS 15.2 beta arrives ahead of public launch for 15.1

iOS 18.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.1 won’t launch publicly until next week. But the next software versions are already here as betas.

Alongside the first betas for iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2, Apple has released the companion macOS Sequoia 15.2 update. These pre-release versions are expected to get full public launches in December.

Currently, the beta is only available for users with a developer account, with no public beta option. Registered developers can download and install it from within the Mac’s Software Update section in the System Settings app.

New features available in 15.2 beta 1

macOS Sequoia 15.2 beta features

Today’s beta introduces some of the most anticipated Apple Intelligence features.

Here’s what’s included:

  • ChatGPT integration for Siri and writing tools
  • Image Playground for creating original images
  • Writing tools upgrade that lets you describe your change

Genmoji, the custom AI-generated emoji feature, is not yet available in beta 1. Hopefully we see it in a future beta before long though, because it is included in iOS and iPadOS 18.2 beta 1.

These additions join the huge list of Apple Intelligence features first debuted in macOS Sequoia 15.1, including the new Siri, notification summaries, object removal and enhanced search in Photos, and more.

Other new features and updates might be included in today’s beta 1 release, in which case we’ll be sure to let you know.

What’s not included in today’s beta

Following macOS 15.2’s release, the vast majority of Apple Intelligence features unveiled in June will be available for users.

Still to come at a later date are:

  • upgrades to Siri that enable personal context awareness, on-screen awareness, and new in-app and cross-app actions
  • priority notifications

It’s only a beta for now, but considering how much attention has been given to Apple’s staggered rollout of AI features, it’s impressive that it’s only October and beta testers have already gained nearly all of the upcoming Apple Intelligence capabilities.
