It feels like you can buy just about anything on Amazon, and apparently you can also buy your next home - just make sure you read the small print.
If you’re itching to buy an affordable house, look no further than the global platform headed by Jeff Bezos.
It’s come a long way from being somewhere to buy books, and now you can even buy your dream home for a helluva lot less than you would on the housing market.
To test out whether you can really buy your home and furnishings using only Amazon, a group of YouTubers called Unspeakable took on the challenge, but there was one thing they didn’t expect not to be included in their home.
A group of YouTubers bought a house off Amazon (unspeakable/YouTube)
In the video, which has amassed an enormous number of comments and likes, the guys, which included the ring leader Nathan Graham began the video after receiving the gigantic parcel from Amazon.
Inside, was a compact home that they needed to set up and fit together.
They soon realized that this compact home needed to be folded outwards like ‘a puzzle’.
Surprisingly, this took no time at all, and soon, they started to unpack their furnishings to make the house a home.
But during all of this, they encountered an unexpected, yet vital issue with the house they bought.
When looking to fit the fridge in the kitchen, looking confused as Nathan looked around: “I’m trying to find somewhere to plug in the fridge but there’s no electrical outlets.”
Someone off camera asked: “Did you not order the electrical package?”
Apparently, not.
But it was missing one vital thing (unspeakable/YouTube)
When he spoke directly into the camera and asked, confused: “How are we supposed to plug stuff in? How are we supposed to cook food?”
Then, they begin scrolling through the home package they bought on Amazon, which appears to be the Cherry Industrial prefabricated tiny home.
All in all, it comes at a cost of $38,999 for the 19 foot by 20 foot home, delivered right to your door.
However, there are several options when buying a package, which also includes a pesky electrical package, which comes with the outlets pre-installed.
If not, you’ll have to get to work on installing it yourself.
In the video, one of the men read out their product description which told them they ‘need to install circuits’ as it ‘doesn’t come with electrical.’
He went on to shout outside to the rest of the guys: “It comes with a toilet, but it doesn’t come with a plug.”
But thankfully, they came prepared.
He said: “It’s all good. We bought a generator from Amazon.”
This generator allowed them to plug in the refrigerator, 80-inch TV and their various lamps.
Not only did they deck out their tiny home with a bunk bed, kitchen digs, dining table and sofa, but they also took the liberty of ordering groceries from Amazon which consisted of milk, eggs, copious amounts of baked beans and steaks for their grill.
However, they forgot the basics to get their dinner ready - a can opener and charcoal for the grill.
They were particularly amazed that they would buy everything they needed to furnish a home from Amazon, even going as far as to order a blow-up slide, a lawn mower and a go-kart too.
As it turns out, yes, you can life entirely off Amazon, but you need to make sure you book the electrical package.
