Maria Shriver shows ‘heartbreaking’ devastation from Palisades Fire in her neighborhood: ‘Everything is gone’

Maria Shriver shared a heart-wrenching video of the devastation caused by the Palisades Fire in Los Angeles that ravaged her neighborhood.

“Heartbreaking, devastating, beyond belief. Everything is gone,” the former first lady of California, who was previously married to ex-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, wrote on Instagram Wednesday alongside a video taken by CBS News correspondent Jonathan Vigliotti.

“Our neighborhood, our restaurants. All our friends have lost everything. We have evacuated, but are safe. But people have lost everything.”

The video showed a Los Angeles street in ruins as the city continues to battle fires throughout Los Angeles County.

“The firefighters have and are doing their best, but this fire is massive and out of control, and now there are multiple fires burning across Los Angeles,” Shriver, 69, continued.

“We in this city will put our arms around one another.”

Shriver urged residents to “stay safe” and allow firefighters to do their jobs.

Around 30,000 Los Angeles residents, including celebrities, were forced to evacuate their estates after a series of fires broke out in Pacific Palisades and surrounding areas on Tuesday.

The Palisades Fire sparked on Tuesday around 10:30 a.m. local time and has since grown to 11,802 acres, according to Cal Fire.

Nearby, the Eaton Fire ignited in northeast Los Angeles after 6:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday and has since grown to 10,600 acres, per Cal Fire.

Wind gusts in the area have reached up to 100 mph.

Among the celebrities who have lost their homes are Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, whose mansion in Pacific Palisades “burned to the ground.”

Leighton Meester and Adam Brody’s $6.5 million estate and James Woods’ home were also destroyed.

Ben Affleck evacuated from his newly purchased $20.5 million home and retreated to his ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s mansion.

Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Alabama Barker, Landon Barker, Eugene Levy and Mandy Moore also fled their homes.
