Mariah Carey delightfully mined the macabre to open the holiday season overnight on Thursday. (Watch the video below.)
Carey, whose song “All I Want For Christmas Is You” has snowballed into the gift that keeps on giving, opens the clip as Morticia Addams dancing with an actor playing her husband Gomez.
But then she throws a knife at him that narrowly misses, slaying the Halloween vibe. A cupboard opens with a Santa suit, Carey erupts into a high-pitched “It’s time!” and we enter a winter wonderland. Gomez turns into a snowman and the Grammy-winning icon belts out her yuletide favorite.
Carey’s Halloween-to-holidays transition has become a tradition.
