Michelle Keegan and her husband Mark Wright have had the gender of their baby seemingly revealed by a close friend.

The pair, both 37, announced their joyful news on Instagram on Sunday, with a beautiful picture showing Michelle cradling her growing bump.

Thousands of well wishes poured in for the couple, but it was a comment by their pal Dylan Hunt, owner of the popular Essex spot Sheesh restaurant, that sparked speculation. The Sheesh official account joked: "Make sure he's Good Looking and Rich, then I might let him take Gia out" - referencing Dylan's daughter, Gia, and hinting at a boy for Michelle and Mark.

Eagle-eyed fans did not miss this, with one responding: "So it's a boy lol."

Recently, the Wright family gathered at Sheesh to celebrate the 68th birthday of Mark's father. During the event, Michelle strategically hid her bump amid their near-miss encounter with Mark's ex-fiancée Lauren Goodger, 38, who had a long-standing relationship with Mark until their 2012 split.

He later met and married Michelle in 2015. To evade any uncomfortable run-ins, the celebrity couple entered discreetly via a side door and swiftly left afterward, ensuring they avoided crossing paths with Lauren, reports OK!.

A source has spilled that Michelle and Mark "kept their pregnancy under wraps for quite some time", choosing to enjoy the moment in private.

"Starting a family has been something they've longed for," the source told the Sun.

"They're both in fantastic places in their careers and their Essex family home is all finished. The timing couldn't have been more perfect."

It has also emerged that "immediate family have known for a while."

Michelle rose to fame as Tina McIntyre on ITV's Coronation Street from 2008 until her departure in 2014. Since then she has starred in military drama Our Girl as Corporal Georgie Lane, hit comedy-drama Brassic playing Erin Croft and Maya Stern in Netflix hit Fool Me Once. She’s gearing up to reprise her role as Kate Thorne in another series of Ten Pound Poms, a storytelling of Brits emigrating from post-war Britain.

Mark, who first captured public attention on The Only Way Is Essex, rocketed to further stardom with his runner-up spot on ITV's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2011 and reaching the finals of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing in 2014. Nowadays, listeners can tune into him every Saturday afternoon on Heart radio.
