The NBA trade deadline is almost three weeks away and there is a chance we could see multiple moves.

Many NBA teams will look to bolster their rosters, but as we approach Feb. 6, there will be an arms race for highly coveted players. The Dallas Mavericks are one of the many teams that could make a trade.

The Mavericks are dealing with injuries of their own. They are without their best player, Luka Dončić, due to a left calf strain. Still, they are in the midst of a spot in the playoffs, and because of that, they could be huge players by the trade deadline.

This trade scenario has the Mavericks bolster their backcourt while also getting rid of a player they're currently shopping, center Daniel Gafford.

According to NBA insiders March Stein and Jake Fischer, the Raptors are most likely to move Brown prior to the trade deadline. The other player on their trading block and is most likely to be tarded is Chris Boucher.

While the Mavericks bolster their backcourt in this scenario, Brown has not played much this season. He made his season debut in December after recovering from offseason knee surgery.

Brown has yet to find his rhythm this season, as he is averaging 7.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 0.9 assists in nine games while playing 18.2 minutes per contest.

A change of scenery and a team with aspirations could be just what Brown needs, as he could be a valuable piece to a contender.

Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison is looking to trade their big man, Daniel Gafford, after playing a pivotal role in leading the team to the NBA Finals last season.

While that was the case, it appears that his time in Dallas could be coming to an end. Harrison is said to be seeking perimeter defense, and adding Brown would do just that.

Brown is an athletic guard who can guard ones and twos on the court and destroy those who are less athletic.

The Mavericks could be major players at the trade deadline, and this trade idea gives them two things they desperately want.
