Royal fans will recall how several months back, chaos erupted over a Mother’s Day card the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) released. The image of Kate and her three children was soon panned as it was deemed fake by photo agencies including Getty Images, which issued a “kill notice” not to use it because it appeared to be edited.

The princess later admitted via a post on X that she did edit the photo herself writing: “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day.”

The criticism Kate faced for her Photoshop fail came to a grinding halt when she revealed weeks later that she had cancer. But now, in an almost unbelievable move, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have released a family holiday card that many say appears to be heavily edited as well.

Here’s which inconsistencies have been spotted in the card and what the Sussexes are being accused of doing.

Meghan and Harry released their holiday card via social media on Dec. 16 with the message: “On behalf of the office of Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions, and Archewell Foundations we wish you a very Happy Holiday Season and a joyful new year.”

The card features several snaps of the pair on various trips they took throughout the year. But the image just about everyone is focused on is the pic of the duke and duchess with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Alongside five other photos, one snap shows the Sussexes’ kids with their backs to the cameras and running to Harry and Meghan’s arms. At first glance, it’s simply an adorable snap of the children delighted to see their parents as they race toward them. But, as so many on social media pointed out, if you look at it a little closer you see a multitude of things that appear very odd within that photo.

Meghan and Harry accused of making AI-generated card after inconsistencies spotted in photo

For starters, there were questions about why the photo was a little blurry prompting an X user to ask: “In this day and age, with the quality of cameras, is this blurred [picture] the best they could achieve? What are they hiding?”

Others focused on the height of the children as a sign of manipulation inquiring why at 3 years old, Lili is just as tall as her big brother who is 5 years old. Several people also noticed something wasn’t right with Lili’s left foot and shoe, saying: “Is that little girl wearing built-up shoes?” and “Her outfit looks completely photoshopped! From hair, dress, socks & huge shoes.”

Moreover, it was noted that both parents and Archie are dressed for cooler temperatures in long sleeves and sweaters while Lili is in a summer dress.

Others called to attention how unusually long Meghan’s arm looks and something strange about her posture. For some reason, the upper half of the duchess’s body is turned one way while her bottom half is going the other way, writing: “Her lower half is facing Lili but her top half is turned towards Archie for a hug” and “It looks disconnected from the body. The legs are facing Lili but her upper body is reaching out to Archie. It’s a tough pose to make. Try it without falling down.”

Another thing scrutinized and why people are calling this an AI-generated image is that Prince Harry appears to have too many fingers as one person posted: “Harry obviously has 5 fingers and a thumb reflecting a well-known indicator of AI imagery.”
