Metro Boomin Praises The Weeknd and Mike Dean for 'Hurry Up Tomorrow': 'Album of the Year'

Metro Boomin is really feeling The Weeknd’s new album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, and Mike Dean’s contributions to it.

The producer hopped on X to share his thoughts about The Weeknd’s latest project — making it clear that he loves it from front to back.

It started with him reposting someone who wrote, “Mike Dean put up a Finals MVP performance on #HurryUpTomorrow.” Metro added “Facts!!!!!!” and tagged Dean so he would see this praise.

After suggesting that listening to the album has him floating in the sky, Metro then wrote his original thoughts about Hurry Up Tomorrow. “Only this nigga Abel could drop album of the year in January lmao,” wrote Metro. He then gave another shoutout to Dean. “Mike Dean siting high on that all time producer/composer list for sure.”

The Weeknd released Hurry Up Tomorrow on Jan. 31. The project, which was postponed for a week “out of respect and concern for the people of Los Angeles County” according to the singer, features previously released tracks, “Dancing in the Flames,” “Timeless,” with Playboi Carti, and “São Paulo” with Anitta.

In a recent interview with Variety, The Weeknd suggested that his new album, which marks the conclusion of a trilogy started with 2020’s After Hours, could be his swan song.

“You have a persona, but then you have the competition of it all,” he said. “It becomes this rat race: more accolades, more success, more shows, more albums, more awards and more No. 1s. It never ends until you end it.

“Part of me actually was thinking, ‘You lost your voice because it’s done; you said what you had to say. Don’t overstay at the party — you can end it now and live a happy life.’ You know? Put the bow on it: Hurry Up Tomorrow? Now we’re here,” The Weeknd added. “When is the right time to leave, if not at your peak? Once you understand who I am too much, then it’s time to pivot.”

The Weeknd recently announced that he’s heading out on a stadium tour with Playboi Carti and Mike Dean as a special guest. The After Hours Til Dawn 2025 Tour will kick off on May 9 in Phoenix.
