Muireann O’Connell is looking forward to a traditional family Christmas at home in Limerick.
The Ireland AM presenter and her fiancé are based in Dublin for work but always go back to her native for the festivities.
Between a girls’ night out and quality family time, Muireann has a routine she loves to follow when she returns home for the Christmas break.

She said: “I do the same as always, I go home to Limerick on the 23rd of December and go out for a girl’s dinner; there’s a big gang of 19 of us from school who still go out every year.
“Then Christmas Eve is at home with family and with my mam, Marie.”
Muireann is more than happy to help with housework but hasn’t mastered the art of cooking a Christmas dinner just yet.
“I leave the cooking to my mam, unfortunately she does it all. I try to be helpful but I find that I’m a bit of a hindrance. I’m happy to do the cleanup and I’ve started learning how to bake a few things so hopefully I can help with that,” she told the RTE Guide.
Muireann has been living in Dublin for many years now but loves celebrating annual Christmas traditions in Limerick.
She added: “I love Christmas and I love my mother’s cooking. There’s a lot of lovely traditions where I’m from in Limerick.
“We’ll go to the Munster match on Stephen’s Day. It’s a really lovely time and Limerick is always lovely at Christmas.”
