Music icon Bez 'set to conquer Hollywood' with bizarre Snow White film he's writing

Happy Mondays legend Bez reckons he is set to conquer Hollywood.

The drug loving dancer is co-writing a “zombie apocalypse on drugs” film, which he reckons will make him a huge star in the US. The 60-year-old says the flick will be based on Snow White, with pal Shaun Ryder cast as the Disney Princess. Bez will play the film’s hero.

He told the Daily Star: “What’s the point in writing your own film if you can’t make yourself the hero? I don’t want to ruin the surprise but I am writing it with another director at the moment who is loving my ideas and letting me run with what comes in my head.

“But it won’t be like anything you’ve seen before. Hollywood, Bez is coming. I’m going to be a Hollywood star.”

The film, named 'Shaun Ryder And His Vertically Challenged Friends' - is a spin of the classic kids tale Snow White and The Seven Dwarves, and Bez says he hopes it doesn’t get him “cancelled”.

He said: “It might be seen as controversial, but I hope not. It’ll only be people getting annoyed about it because that’s what they like to do these days about everything.

“The world has gone mad. What happened to the days when you could have a laugh and take the p**s?

“If we aren’t careful that’s a side of life we will lose. You need to be able to take the p**s and have the p**s taken out of you. Don’t take things too seriously.“

The idea to create his own film came after starring in one.

He recently played a violent biker in the UK gangster flick Geezers, a high paced crime caper about a stolen bag of money and a war between the rival gangs. Written and directed by Ciaron Davies, the film draws inspiration from cult classics like Snatch and John Wick, promising car chases and brutal shootouts.

Bez said: “I loved it, and the cast were brilliant. I’ve never done anything like that before but it was so much fun. I’m into my bikes anyway, it’s my happy place. But to play the role, Ciaron said to just run with it, and we did. I loved it. Ciaron is who I’m working on my film with, he’s a great bloke.”
