Naked and Afraid star Sarah Danser has died in a car accident at the age of 34.
The reality star was reportedly sat in a parked car when a man drove at speed into the vehicle in Kahala, Hawaii, on Sunday (October 20).
The driver, 59, is believed to have lost control of his vehicle before crashing into the parked car, according to a Honolulu police statement shared with KSLA.
Sarah, who was a passenger in the parked car, was rushed to hospital in a critical condition where doctors attempted to save her. However, she could not be saved and died of her injuries on Tuesday (October 22).
Jake Danser paid an emotional tribute to his sister as he told KSLA: "Magical is the way to describe her. Sarah had this positive energy about her that just really filled the environment that she was in."
Sarah's dad added: "I actually saw how much of a difference she made in the lives of others. I think she saved my life once, diving in Indonesia."
Melissa Lauren, Sarah's Naked and Afraid co-star, is mourning the loss of her friend, branding her "the most adventurous soul" she's ever met.
Melissa continued: "She wasn’t only a fierce survivalist on Naked and Afraid (she completed XL in South Africa with me), but a breast cancer survivor who kept an inspiring and positive attitude through her treatment."
She went on to describe Sarah's love for the ocean and nature, also sharing how the avid adventurer viewed the world with childlike wonder.
"Rest easy Sarah, I know you’re out there exploring somewhere," her heartfelt post concluded.
Survival reality series Naked and Afraid premiered on Discovery Channel in 2013. Sarah appeared on the show four years later before returning in 2018 for the all-stars spin-off Naked and Afraid XL.
In each episode, two contestants are left in extreme, remote locations without clothes, food, or tools. They are tasked with surviving for 21 days using only their skills and one item.
