“Our Granny Watts made it to 101 and a half,” Watts wrote.

“She got her letter from the King to celebrate her century, last night she rested in peace. RIP.”

Another photo showed Watts posing with her grandmother during celebrations for her 100th birthday.

Her grandmother was the mother of the actress’ late father Peter Watts.

The loss comes just three months after she farewelled her maternal grandmother “Nanna” Nikki Roberts who died aged 99 from a “massive stroke”.

“My darling Nanna has left this world but her spirit will never leave us. I’m truly blessed to have had the most wonderful relationship with her,” she wrote on Instagram on August 30.

“She is such a huge part of who I am: her core values, her work ethic, and her mischievous humour and joy of life. I cannot express how deeply grateful I am for all that she gave me and her wonderful daughters,” Watts’ message continued.

“My mum and aunts are all in pieces today, but we know what a great life she had. She just kept cracking on because she loved her life and her family.”

Watts is married to Morning Wars actor Billy Crudup and lives in the US.

Watts began dating Crudup after the pair met in 2017 while filming the Netflix drama series Gypsy, in which they co-starred as husband and wife.

She revealed the couple’s low-key wedding on Instagram in June 2023, announcing the pair were officially “hitched!”.

Dressed in a white Oscar de la Renta Sweetheart Water Lilly Guipure dress, Watts is pictured holding a white bouquet of flowers with Almost Famous star Crudup by her side on the steps of what appears to be a New York City courthouse.

Watts later shared a selfie of the newlyweds beaming with the caption, “hubby” and lifted the lid on her outfit details, spotlighting New York jeweller Briony Raymond and fashion house Oscar de la Renta for the elegant yet simple lace look.

“Flowers from the deli,” she added.

Watts shares two children with her ex-partner Liev Schreiber, while Crudup has a son with his ex, actress Mary-Louise Parker.
