Meghan Markle is currently working on production for her new Netflix show, which is a cooking show with an unknown name. However, one insider who worked on the show said she is ‘so much work.’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have taken on a number of new business ventures since relocating to the United States back in 2020. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex separated themselves from their royal work at that time, and one of the deals they inked pretty quickly was a multi-million-dollar contract with Netflix.
However, the couple’s Netflix dreams have not come together in exactly the way they’d hoped. Now, an insider who worked with Meghan on her new cooking show is calling the duchess out for being “so much work.”
Netflix show insider reveals what it was like working on Meghan Markle’s cooking show
Earlier this year, Meghan announced that she was launching a new lifestyle brand called American Riviera Orchard. The Duchess of Sussex was building out the lifestyle space that she had been a part of prior to meeting Harry, and her fans were excited for the new chapter. With it came the announcement of a Netflix cooking show.
However, the cooking show still has not come out, and now, Daily Mail is reporting that at least one Netflix insider does not think the show’s production was “worth” the end result.
“It’s so much work with her and, bluntly, the ‘deliverable’ does not seem to be worth it,” the insider said, with the deliverable referring to Meghan’s cooking show.
Another entertainment executive shared similar pessimism over Meghan’s Netflix deal, saying “Her show will have to be an enormous hit to turn around their deal and their reputations in this town.”
Meghan’s show currently has no release date, and we have heard very little about it since it was announced. However, after Harry and Meghan’s “Polo” documentary received harsh reviews, it’s hard to say what will come of the cooking show.
Meghan Markle has not said much about American Riviera Orchard
Fans went wild back in early 2024 when Meghan returned to Instagram. But her handle wasn’t what people were expecting — it was @americanrivieraorchard and signaled a brand-new lifestyle business by the duchess. Eventually, some celebrities even shared pictures and videos with one of Meghan’s jams, and fans were excited about what was to come.
However, nearly a year later, there has still been no official launch date for the brand. That certainly doesn’t mean it’s not happening, but it has lost some steam by allowing so much time to pass between the announcement of the brand and giving the public access to the products.
Meghan continues working on the lifestyle aspect of her name, and it’s possible the cooking show will be a hit — and show us a more personal side of her that is relatable and enjoyable. But until it premieres, we only have the words of anonymous Netflix employees to give us any idea of what it will be like.
