Nick Knowles transforms his home into incredible festive grotto putting DIY SOS skills to test

Nick Knowles decorated his home with flashy Christmas lights and huge statues as his soon-to-be wife Katie Dadzie stood by and gazed at his handy work

DIY SOS star Nick Knowles put his handyman skills to the test for the festive period, much to the delight of his fiancee Katie Dadzie.

The TV presenter, 62, got to work in his lavish Berkshire home and decorated it ready for Christmas time. Among the brilliant display was a 12ft teddy bear that was popped in prime position on the couple's front lawn. Elsewhere, Nick added flashing reindeers, hundreds of LED lights and a large red bow to help tie together the beautiful display. 

It's said Nick was behind the look and completed the task despite still recovering from injuries he sustained on this year's Strictly Come Dancing. In snaps, Nick was seen completing the festive look, and all was done by Nick is his arm and knee brace as he rests from his Strictly Come Dancing injuries.

Images show the festive looking home sparkling under the moonlight as the teddy takes centre stage. Both Nick and Katie, 35, were seen smiling as they added the finishing touches to the decorations. In one image, Nick is stood on a ladder to make sure he has his baubles and wreath perfectly placed. Katie was on hand to supervise her man as she stared up at his handy work.

Nick and Katie, who is 27 years his junior, got engaged last year in New York. However, he has previously admitted he almost they almost split due to trolls targeting her. Lingerie designer Katie revealed she was sent "racist abuse" and labelled a "gold-digger" after stepping out with the DIY SOS star, making her question whether the relationship was really worth it.

Nick labelled the comments "properly vile" as he slammed the actions as "really unpleasant and unfair". He explained: "Katie's a mum of two, she's super-intelligent, capable, within just eight months her lingerie brand was stocked by Next. But you just get people being properly vile. So you understand when she goes, 'I don't know if I want to be around this.’”

Nick sadly admitted he didn't try to win her round during the rocky patch, claiming he knows dating him is a lot to take on. He added to the Times: "People think dating me will be fun, but then I'm away for months on end.

"Or you ask them to go to a premiere; people think it will be amazing, they get their hair done, then suddenly they're standing in front of 40 photographers on a red carpet and it's terrifying. It's not a glamorous experience at all. It's really horrible and intense.”

However, the pair are currently waiting for their happy ever after moment and he was thrilled when she accepted his marriage proposal. "In the end we love each other very much,” he gushed. "You have to be brave. You can't let previous difficulties stop you falling in love, because you close yourself off to the possibility of being happy."
