Air fryers are the fad-turned-essential that millions of people up and down the country simple can’t do without. Not only do they use less energy than conventional cooking options like an oven or hob, but they cook food more quickly, with less mess, little to no additional oil, and at a much lower cost.

If you’ve not yet revolutionised your kitchen with one, or you’re in the market for an upgrade, be sure to check out the Ninja Double Stack Air Fryer at Amazon. Right now the 7.6L version is  down to £182.39.

With its dual drawers you can cook on four levels at the same time, with rear fans meaning everything is evenly cooked. There are six preset cooking options, including Max Crisp, Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Reheat, and Dehydrate, each with fully customisable temperature and timing settings.

Operating at 2470 watts, it costs just 61p to run an hour. Compare that to a normal oven, which runs anywhere between 2000 and 4000 watts depending on power, costing between 49p and 98p to run for 60 minutes. Plus, air fryers are said to be a healthier way of cooking, as they use less oil than traditional frying. On top of all its features, you’ll also get a two-year guarantee for added peace of mind with this gadget.

Amazon customers are particularly smitten with this one, with 4.8 out of 5 stars averaged from over 37,000 reviews at the time of writing - with 89% of awarding the full five stars. “The best thing about this product is that it pays for itself through energy savings,” said one such review. “Since getting this Ninja my deep fat fryer is now obsolete, my grill is almost obsolete and my oven hasn't been used since.”

“It's very easy to use and easy to clean,” said another happy customer. “I like the two separate compartments which can be synchronised and allow you to cook a complete meal. I just need to be adventurous and buy a book with more recipes!” Another added: “I've now had this Ninja device for quite some time and can honestly say it has served me well, offering a healthy and convenient was to cook meals. Easily cleaned, easily set and I love the dual cook feature so that different foods can be cooked in the two different drawers at different times and at different heat settings.”

Some have raised a few minor concerns, however. “A couple of niggles to watch out for: beware of placing delicate items next to the vent, as it emits very hot air so can burn. Also, the machine emits a lot of condensation under the bottom tray, so needs constant wiping, but overall, recommended.”

Another customer noted the short power lead means it’ll need to positioned close to a plug: “I know that the product information states that the power cable is short for a purpose — to prevent dangling power leads and children pulling the hot oven on top of them. But, at 78cm, it is just too short to reach the socket in the best position for our air fryer in our kitchen.”

While Ninja’s a stand-out brand in air fryers, there are some other options to consider. This dual-drawer Salter air fryer is a great pick for £79.99 (reduced from £129.99) at Robert Dyas, and this Tefal option at Currys similarly has two drawers at £99.99 (down from £169.99).
