Photographs of Sean "Diddy" Combs dressed as the Pope from Heidi Klum's 2008 Halloween party have recently reappeared online, sparking renewed attention as the musician faces serious allegations.
At the star-studded gathering, Diddy appeared in a white skullcap and cassock, layered with a red cape and multiple crucifixes, embodying the image of the Pope.
Seen blessing the crowd and even dancing on tables, Diddy was accompanied by then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, who donned a Wonder Woman costume.
The images capture a moment when Combs was widely celebrated, years before recent accusations cast shadows over his public image.
In 2008, Diddy's career was at its peak. He had become the first male rapper to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was expanding his media presence with his VH1 reality show, I Want to Work for Diddy.
His rise included an acting stint on CSI: Miami, where he portrayed a lawyer. These achievements solidified Diddy as a fixture in pop culture, long before his legal issues emerged.
Allegations Surface as Combs Prepares for Trial
Recent years, however, have brought forward multiple accusations against Diddy. In May 2024, a video from 2016 surfaced, reportedly showing him chasing Cassie Ventura down a hotel hallway before assaulting her.
In her lawsuit, which was later settled out of court, Ventura alleged that Diddy had paid the hotel $50,000 to acquire the footage after the incident.
In a statement following the settlement, Ventura expressed, "I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support."
Diddy, now detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, is facing federal charges, including racketeering, sex trafficking, and conspiracy.
His attorneys continue to challenge the court's decision, appealing to the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court after two judges denied his release on bail. Meanwhile, Diddy's legal team maintains his innocence, calling the latest allegations "clear attempts to garner publicity."
Adding to the weight of these accusations, Diddy's seven children publicly voiced their support for their father, sharing on social media, "The past month has devastated our family...We hold onto the truth, knowing it will prevail, and nothing will break the strength of our family. WE MISS YOU & LOVE YOU DAD."
The situation escalated further with seven new lawsuits filed against Diddy, led by attorney Tony Buzbee, who has cited a significant response to a victims' hotline he created.
The hotline reportedly received 12,000 calls in one day, contributing to the collection of evidence in cases that span over two decades.
Despite these mounting allegations, Diddy's attorneys insist that the claims are baseless, stating, "He has never sexually assaulted anyone - adult or minor, man or woman."
As the trial date approaches, scheduled for May 5, 2024, the public eye remains sharply focused on Diddy, awaiting the outcome of a case that has already made waves in the media and within his family.
