OMG! Diddy Is Literally Asking For Friend Donald Trump's Magical Immunity!

Diddy really wants to be bailed out of jail… and his lawyers have embraced a new tactic to get their way: invoking his good pal Donald Trump.

In a new letter sent to presiding Judge Arun Subramanian at the end of last week, Marc Agnifilo and the rest of the embattled music mogul’s legal team is trying a new strategy in their bid for bail and their client’s release: if it’s good enough for Trump, it’s good enough for them!

The former (and now future) POTUS was prosecuted in United States v Trump over his phony claims about the 2020 election being stolen, leading to the January 6 insurrection attempt by the crowd at his rally. After being indicted in August of 2023, the former Apprentice star’s case eventually worked all the way up to the Supreme Court. There, the right-leaning Court ruled that Trump had absolute immunity for official acts undertaken within the bounds of presidential duties. AKA, getting off totally scot-free from all the 2020 election bull s**t!

Well, that’s coming up now because the Bad Boy Records mogul is using that SAME tactic as Trump in his latest bail bid! Per NewsNation and others, the rapper’s latest court filing asks Judge Subramanian to consider that Combs’ statements on social media and in other public venues ought to be uber-protected by the First Amendment and must be evaluated under the “most demanding scrutiny” specifically because of Trump! The letter states:

“The Court should apply Trump’s heightened standard when considering Mr. Combs’ speech here.”

Uh, WTF?! Diddy wasn’t President. But that’s the scheme his team is pushing, regardless! And they are NOT shy about name-dropping Trump in this bail push!

This latest letter went on to add that in Trump’s case, the Supreme Court determined that a defendant’s free speech should be restricted only if it poses “a significant and imminent threat to the administration of criminal justice.” And to that end, Sean Combs supposedly has a “greater constitutional claim” than other trial participants to be able to speak publicly — and to criticize the prosecution. So basically, just like Trump with his phony election fraud claims, Diddy’s legal crew wants the rapper to enjoy special privileges (and thus, that coveted magical immunity) that would land us regular folk in hot water!

The letter gets even more specific, too. As we reported ten days ago, federal prosecutors previously argued that Diddy’s recent 55th birthday celebration with family was a concerted effort to influence potential jury members in his forthcoming trial. But Combs’ lawyers, again citing the Trump immunity decision, say that’s a bunch of bunk! Their new letter argues:

“The government’s arguments that asking his children to post birthday wishes on Instagram and that he is not entitled to publicly express his opinion that this prosecution is racially motivated are, quite simply, an unconstitutional effort to silence him.”

Hmmm…

Judge Subramanian will rule on this latest bail ask next Monday, FYI. Diddy’s lawyers have failed to spring him from jail multiple times thus far in the last few months. But it remains to be seen whether this Trumpian tactic will be the thing that finally does the trick. Guess we’ll find out next week! Thoughts, y’all??
