Only Fools And Horses fans have highlighted Del Boy's "nastiest" moment in the hit comedy.
The much-loved sitcom about Del (Sir David Jason) and Rodney Trotter (Nicholas Lyndhurst) and their endless get rich quick schemes was the topic of debate in a thread on Reddit, with fans chewing over some of the worst things that Del Boy did. They pointed the finger at 1986 Christmas episode A Royal Flush, with one viewer admitting they "can't sit through" it.
The instalment saw Rodney meet struggling artist Vicky, who actually turned out to be the daughter of a Duke. Romance was blossoming when Del Boy turned up at one of the Duke's elegant dinners, started drinking and wrecked it. In one awkward scene, he told Vicky's dad that Rodney may need to be paid off to leave his precious daughter alone.

It came up on Reddit as a fan suggested another episode where Del went wrong. But someone else chimed in: "IMO not even close to the nastiest thing.
"Deliberately sabotaging Rodney's promising relationship with the posh girl in A Royal Flush just to get a pay-off from her dad was really awful. There's no poetic justice for Del in that episode either, as there usually is when he's taken advantage of Rodney."
Someone else agreed: "Royal Flush is one of the few episodes I can't sit through, specifically for that reason. Different times and all that, but it's just so mean spirited that it's just too hard to enjoy."
"I agree," said another Only Fools And Horses fan. "I think the entire episode has a different, darker feel to it imo," they went on.
Somebody else said on the site: "Think I read somewhere that Royal Flush was the only episode that (creator and writer) John Sullivan disliked... It is the worst episode of them all. I don’t think there is really another bad one."
Another fan chimed in: "I read something recently about A Royal Flush that Jason and Sullivan reflected the episode would have been better, certainly elements of the dinner when he's sabotaging things, being broadcast with a live studio audience. That way, there would have been more opportunities to adjust things - and probably soften - to the audience preference."
Only Fools And Horses aired from 1981 to 2003, with seven series and several festive specials.
