Fans were left astonished as  Sir Paul McCartney debuted a "spooky" makeover in true Halloween fashion.

The iconic Beatle took to Instagram on Thursday to share a startling image with his impressive 4.5 million followers to celebrate the ghoulish holiday.

The hitmaker from Walton often gives fans a glimpse into his life, dazzling them with snapshots and videos from both his awe-inspiring tours and personal moments.

In the surprise post, he captioned: “Here's to a spooky Halloween for us all, while donning what seems to be an inverted skeleton mask.

Paul seemed to be embracing the eerie spirit of the day in monochrome style.

The post swiftly set social media abuzz, raking in over 80,000 likes and triggering a wave of chatter among his dedicated aficionados.

Fans were quick to express their startled amusement at McCartney's chilling disguise.

This included @purplelennon who expressed sheer alarm: “Just letting you know Paul I'd be absolutely TERRIFIED if you showed up at my door."

@AngelaMastelli echoed the sentiment: “Wait this is kinda scary Paul.”

The 82-year-old is currently travelling around the globe on his Got Back tour, thrilling audiences across the globe.

This month, he has traveled through South and Central America, with his most recent spectacle unfolding at Lima's Estadio Nacional in Peru.

After the show, Paul took to Instagram to express his gratitude towards his audience with a throwback he exclaimed: “Que chevere noche, Peru," translating to “What a cool night.”

Paul later returned to social media with a new Halloween look as he spun around the room wearing a Day of the Dead mask, in a post captioned: “Wishing you a happy Halloween from Bogotá.”
