The Peaky Blinders family is mourning the loss of their beloved costume designer Stephanie Collie, who has passed away at 61. The creative genius behind the show's iconic style, Stephanie was honoured with heartfelt tributes from cast members, including leading man Cillian Murphy.

He expressed his admiration for her work in a statement: "Stephanie was a ferocious talent. She invented the Peaky Blinders look and silhouette that has become iconic across the world. We will all miss her. RIP."

The official Peaky Blinders Instagram account also commemorated Stephanie's "incredible work". They shared: "We were so saddened to learn of the passing of costume designer Stephanie Collie. Stephanie's incredible work in our first series was key to creating the iconic look of the Peaky Blinders, and has gone on to inspire so many people around the world. Our love and thoughts are with her family.'" Hollywood stars joined in paying respects, with Samuel L.

Jackson from Pulp Fiction stating: "Stephanie was fuel for my characters. A wonderfully joyous and collaborative part of my process. I'll miss her, is an understatement."

Ryan Reynolds of Deadpool fame also expressed his sorrow: "Deeply saddened to hear of Stephanie Collie's passing", reports the Mirror. "She was an accomplished and talented designer - but the world has also lost two precious natural resources: her wry wit and acerbic observational humour. My condolences to her family, colleagues and all who knew her. Rest well, Stephanie."

The Cheshire-born talent cut her teeth at Cheltenham Arts College before honing her design prowess at the London College of Fashion. Starting in the BBC sewing room alongside Susan Coates, Stephanie's flair soon caught the attention of Kenneth Branagh and the Renaissance Theatre Company.

She leapt to fame with innovative designs that redefined men's fashion on Guy Ritchie's 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels'. It was on the set of the BBC smash hit, drawing inspiration from vintage criminal mugshots, where Stephanie sculpted the Peaky Blinders look that would take the high street by storm – tweed waistcoats, club-collar shirts and those ubiquitous flat caps.

Stephanie bagged a Royal Television Society Award for Best Costume Designer due to her exceptional work. She leaves behind three siblings and was also the stepmother to her husband Hubert Taczanowski's daughter from his previous marriage.
