Comedian and radio presenter PJ Gallagher has revealed he detests Christmas so much he's willing to work on Christmas Day in order to avoid some of the festivities.
PJ will present his ever popular Radio Nova show on Christmas Day, much to the delight of listeners.
PJ, 49, and his partner Kelly Doolin, 34, welcomed twins back in August 2023. Despite being a happy dad, he still isn't keen on Christmas. “It’s the one day of the year you have to meet everyone you’ve been avoiding for 364 other days of the year.

"You’re buying presents for people you’d rather avoid and the responsibility of it.
"Everyone’s got a party. I don’t want to go to your smelly parties. Everyone’s got a party. You’ve to play stupid games like Kris Kindle and Secret Santa. It stinks of organised fun.”
He added that becoming a dad has not changed his feelings about the holidays. He said: “I don’t think so. If anything, it is going to be worse. I just see it for what it is.”
PJ will work on Christmas Day and will present Morning Glory on Radio Nova without co-star Jim McCabe by his side.
Speaking about his partner Kelly, eh revealed she didn't mind that he won't be there for part of Christmas Day. “She’s delighted because everyone agrees that the more out of the house I am, the easier life is, so I think she thinks to herself she’ll get some happy family moments for the three hours I’m working.”
Meanwhile, PJ's co-host Jim said he is looking forward to relaxing on Christmas Day as a result of PJ taking on the show. He told the Irish Mirror: “In a weird sort of way, this works well for me because PJ deciding to do this, do the show live, takes away all the need to do pre-recorded bits and features and all that sort of stuff.
"So I’m having a full feet-up moment. People are worried that it will all go horribly wrong, and he’ll burn the place down to the ground, that is a very real possibility, but the most likely thing is, I think he’ll be fine.”
Jim joked: “I think the most likely thing that’ll happen is when the rest of us go back to use the equipment, we’ll find it doesn’t work quite as well because there’s strange bits of mince pie and selection box stuck in between faders and all sorts of business.”
