Quincy Jones' famous daughter, Rashida Jones, reminisced about the music titan's legacy as she paid tribute to him on social media.
The composer, producer and songwriter died this month aged 91 at his home in Bel Air surrounded by his family. The news of his death was confirmed earlier this week by his publicist Arnold Robinson. The statement read: "Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones' passing.
"And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him." The music legend was dad to Jolie, 69; Rachel, 59; Martina, 58; producer Quincy III, 55; Kidada, 50; actress Rashida, 48, and fashion model Kenya, 31.
A few days after his death, The Office star Rashida took to her Instagram page to share a photo of her as a baby with her dad. She captioned the post: "My dad was nocturnal his whole adult life. He kept “jazz hours” starting in high school and never looked back. When I was little, I would wake up in the middle of the night to search for him.

He would smile and bring me into his arms while he continued to work...there was no safer place in the world for me. He was a giant. An icon. A culture shifter. A genius."
She continued: "All accurate descriptions of my father but his music (and ALL of his work) was a channel for his love. He WAS love. He made everyone he ever met feel loved and seen. That’s his legacy. I was fortunate enough to experience this love in close proximity. I’ll miss his hugs and kisses and unconditional devotion and advice. Daddy, it is an honor to be your daughter. Your love lives forever."
Rashida's A-list pals took to the comment section to send their well wishes, with Natalie Portman writing: "I love you lady," while Gwyneth Paltrow posted: "So heartbroken. I love you so much." Singer Kelly Rowland commented: "Rashida!! Sending you and your beautiful family, SO MUCH LOVE! I am so sorry!!!"
Tracee Ellis Ross, daughter of Diana Ross, said: "Love you so much Rashida! Thinking of you and your family. Holding you in a tight embrace." Aubrey Plaza, Ed Helms, Katie Holmes, Elizabeth Banks, Rose Byrne, Gabrielle Union, Reese Witherspoon, Erykah Badu, Quest Love and Niecy Nash also commented their support for the Parks and Recreation actress.
