Rachael and chef Jacques, 88, were discussing their respective relationships when she said of 57-year-old John: "It’s more important how we treat one another.

"One of the things I think has been essential to my life and my success over the years has been the partner that I chose.

"I love my husband John, and John works with me, has built our business and our brand together."

Rachael continued: "My husband and I didn’t get married until very late in life - 37 and 38 years old - but it was very important to me that I married him because I thought, ‘this person could be a true partner to what I believe in and helping people and uilding, not a business, but a community."

John is a former lawyer and a singer in the band The Cringe and Rachael confessed that she loves that they have different interests.

Rachael added: "What I love about John… he’s a lawyer and a musician. I’m not a musician, I’m certainly no lawyer!

"I hate reading legal documents, official stuff… but we balance each other. We allow each other to be open to different worlds."

During a previous episode of her podcast Rachael came clean about having "huge screaming matches" with John but insisted the aguments are "healthy".

She told Jenny Mollen: "It’s very hard, especially for hot-tempered or creative or vociferous loud people to be able to just calm it down.

"John and I don’t calm it down ever. We have huge screaming matches all the time, but I think that’s healthy. I really do. And I don’t trust people that are too quiet."

Fan concerns

Last month Rachael sparked concern with a clip from her Tuscany-inspired cooking show.

Taken from an episode of Rachael Ray in Tuscany, some viewers claimed she appeared to be slurring her words while paying tribute to legendary singer Tony Bennett.

As she shared the recipe of the late singer's favorite dish – ossobuco, or braised veal shanks, served with polenta and bread - one fan commented they were "seriously concerned" about Rachael, with others noting her speech was "slurred".

"She got emotional talking about her friend is all," another Instagram user said.

A third person wrote, "She's aging like the rest of us. Maybe she has a medical condition, maybe she is on medication. Regardless, no need to be mean."

"Omg is she ok? What happened," a fourth comment read.
