TL;DR: TL;DR: This Realme GT 7 Pro review points it as a solid option, and the most powerful phone made by Realme so far. This has the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, 16GB high-speed RAM, 512GB high-speed storage, and the other hardware to make this a solid consideration.
I’ve used this as my daily driver to take pictures, shoot & upload videos, and play games. The Realme GT 7 Pro isn’t flawless, but it has the specs and features to cover some of the chinks in its armour. With me so far? Great! Let’s get to the details then.

Realme GT 7 Pro build and design
The phone has an aluminium and glass construction which gives it a premium look and feel. The matte finish and the copper band along the camera bump on this Galaxy Grey colour also look good. Overall, the phone feels good and looks good, but there’s no word about the drop testing or protective glass, so you better put on a case and a screen guard.

On the upside, you don’t need to worry about water splashes or even a dive underwater. This phone is IP69 rated and comes with an underwater photography mode. It opens the window for more creativity and gives additional peace of mind if you’re using it in the rain.
Realme GT 7 Pro display
Realme gave the GT 7 Pro an OLED display with a Samsung-sourced Eco2 (Eco Square). It is a massive display with 6500nits peak brightness, so outdoor usage is not an issue. But having a bright display is an advantage even with indoor use, as you can dial up the brightness evenly without messing up the colours.
It also has a bunch of useful settings like the lowest allowed brightness and extra brightness to better manage the screen. Summing up, the screen is punchy and responsive, has accurate colour reproduction, and a certain depth to it, which gives it a premium touch.
Realme GT 7 Pro cameras
The Realme GT 7 Pro is fitted with a triple camera system. The main + telephoto + ultrawide setup is 50MP+50MP+8MP. These are all Sony sensors, but the main and telephoto lenses are 50MP each, adding decent hardware to the device.
However, Realme is heavily relying on its AI prowess to get the cameras going. A photographer friend of mine noticed real-time noise reduction when taking low-light images. Even low-light slo-mo shots had subtle AI corrections which only improve the overall image quality.
You can also use it to fake a moon shot as we did. You only see a blob of light when you point it at the moon, zoom in to the max, and dial down the exposure. But the final image is a detailed moon shot, complete with a dash of craters. Now Realme isn’t the first one doing it, but it is there, and you can do it too.
As for the camera performance, I have mixed results. The sky looks overexposed in night shots, but the rest of the detail is well-preserved. Daylight shots also show the phone prioritizing subjects over the background. While it is AI correction, you can always edit these photos to your liking from the phone itself.
The main sensor is the most consistent of the bunch, closely followed by the telephoto camera. Ultrawide remains a weak link but will do the job in decent lighting. The AI corrections are subtle and clean, landing in a sweet spot in most cases.

What happens when you put a flagship chip in a phone, pair it with double-digit RAM, and throw in the segment’s largest vapour chamber cooling system? The answer is in the benchmark tests below.
Realme GT 7 Pro has the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, 16GB RAM, and 512 GB storage with a 11480mm² VC cooling system. I played GTA San Andreas on this phone for 6 straight hours, with the case on. I guess the cold weather also has a bit to do with it, but the phone barely heated up.
The chip+RAM combo also gives it some edge in the AI processing department. Images get processed faster, edits apply quickly, and games also get a visible boost when running in the GT mode. However, you will experience some heating if you play games while charging it. This isn’t recommended but I did as part of my testing.
Realme GT 7 Pro review: battery and charging
My review unit here is the Chinese variant of the Realme GT 7 Pro, which means it has a massive 6500mAh battery, paired with 120-watt fast charging. The Indian variant will get a smaller 5800 mAh cell, which should reduce the battery backup by 2 to 3 hours.
I got over one day of heavy usage from this phone during the entirety of my usage. The Indian variant could also get around 1 day of backup on heavy use since the OS is fairly optimized. Coming to the charging department, this phone charged from 10% to 97% in 30 minutes. Again with the smaller battery, charging should be a bit faster.
So far, I’ve picked a bone with almost all Realme devices, and I have the same complaint here. Realme and Vivo are sister companies and share a lot of tech. However, Realme simply refuses to give us a USB-C to C charger. A 120-watt charger is good, but if the same had USB-C on both ends, it would be future-proof.
Realme GT 7 Pro software experience
Speaking of future-proof, the specs on the GT 7 Pro could easily make it last a couple of years. Realme has given this 3 years of OS and 4 years of security updates. But the phone is priced close to Rs. 70,000, where it is directly competing with Samsung and Pixel devices offering 7 years of OS updates.
Update cycle aside, the phone has some bloatware, but you can remove and disable most of it. Plus there are a couple of neat AI features like sketch-to-image, object remover, and AI smart loop which come in handy with day-to-day usage.
Realme GT 7 Pro review: Verdict
The Realme GT 7 Pro is undoubtedly the best smartphone Realme has offered so far. It is big, premium, and has the specs to go head-to-head with any other flagship out there. That said, Realme still needs to offer longer backend support and give it more than 3 years of updates to justify the premium price.
One standout feature of this phone is that you get everything you need inside the box. The 120-watt fast charger and a decent-quality cover are included, so you only need to invest in a screen guard and you’re good to go.
