The Real Housewives of New York City reboot is rocking and rolling through its second season. The show has its fans, but it’s not enjoying the same success as the other franchises currently airing. Still, there’s enough petty drama to keep diehards entertained. Recently, Brynn Whitfield made a shady comment about Rebecca Minkoff, who is a ‘friend of.’ And now, a new preview for the upcoming episode shows her response to the shade. Plus, Rebecca is opening up about how she’s both Jewish and a Scientologist.
Rebecca has built an impressive reputation in the fashion world, which calls Brynn’s comment into question. Not only has she amassed a fortune, but Rebecca was also one of Fortune’s top 40 under 40 for 2014.
To set the scene from the Bravo preview, Erin Lichy recently had a launch event that was filmed for the show. However, Rebecca couldn’t be there because she was receiving an award. Upon learning this, Brynn said, “Oh! I didn’t know Nordstrom Rack gives out awards.” Erin then informed Rebecca of the shady comment when they sat down for lunch.
Rebecca responded, “Oh, wow, that’s a good one. Listen, she doesn’t have to like my stuff. That’s fine. I built a $100 million company.”
However, the comment didn’t slide off Rebecca’s back as easily in her confessional. According to her, “I think it’s pretty distasteful for her to come for my career, or anything I’ve done, frankly. I’m not sure what she’s done. It’s like a little yap dog trying to bite you. I have been bit by real sharks. So, this is nothing to me.”
According to Reality Tea, Rebecca also opened up to Erin about what it’s like to be both Jewish and a Scientologist. She said, “Being Jewish is my religion, obviously. And then the other one is really an applied philosophy that, like, when it gets rough, that’s where I can get tools to help me.”
Specifically, Rebecca feels that Scientology helps her “with communication, with the stress of life, like, dealing with kids, a business.”
Erin then questioned whether it’s a religion. Rebecca responded, “Everyone hears the word ‘religion’ and thinks, ‘God, worship,’ right? But there’s also anything spiritual in nature. So, you could go as far as to say that going to Soul Cycle is a spiritual experience.”
Rebecca can then be seen in a confessional saying, “I think it’s unfortunate that there are a lot of stereotypes out there that are people who don’t have the right information [or] are working with inadequate data. And I would just ask people to go check it out for yourself. Whether it is reading a book, going online, watching the TV station about it.”
