Fans of The Real Housewives of Potomac are still reeling from the fact that Karen Huger was found guilty of seven counts related to her accident earlier this year.
Making matters worse, the body and dash cam footage shows precisely how erratic the RHOP star was during and after her DUI arrest. Now, a new report says that the Grand Dame could be let go from the show that made her famous.
Reports surfaced back in March that Karen had been involved in a horrendous accident after allegedly driving while under the influence. No one was hurt, but she did total her 2017 Maserati. This has been a significant talking point in this season of RHOP even though Karen refused to provide concrete details about the accident.
Now, an insider is talking to Page Six, and they informed the outlet that Karen could be let go from the show if things don’t move in a more positive direction. Currently, even supporters of Karen feel she needs some help due to her words and actions in the body cam footage.
The insider said, “She would need to clean up her act [for Bravo] to move forward with her.”
There haven’t been any casting decisions made yet, but the network probably doesn’t want it to seem that they’re rewarding bad behavior by keeping her on the show without seeing significant change.
Karen still has yet to be sentenced. Unless something changes, this will happen on January 29, 2025. The RHOP star is facing two years behind bars. However, most don’t think she’ll get that much time, if any. Notably, this is Karen’s second offense regarding driving under the influence.
Regarding the controversial body cam footage, many are also saying it would have been in Karen’s best interest to submit to the breathalyzer or the field sobriety test to avoid it being released. Not only was she clearly “lit,” as she said in the footage, but she made some pretty concerning remarks that seemingly validate what has been said about her relationship with alcohol on the show.
We’re hoping the Grand Dame gets the help she needs and that she can serve as a reminder to others that drinking and driving is never a good idea.
Fans can watch Karen on new episodes of RHOP on Sunday nights.
