While Apple is planning its first M4 Macs for next week, that momentum is set to carry over to 2025. Bloomberg today reports that Apple is set to unveil a new MacBook Air powered by the M4 chip in early 2025, while the timeline for an updated Mac Studio has slipped to the second quarter of the year.

Bloomberg says that the new M4 MacBook Air will be available in the same 13-inch and 15-inch form factors and will “will look similar to the current design.” The current MacBook Air design was first introduced in July 2022 with the M2 chip and was updated with the M3 chip in March 2023

The new M4 MacBook Air “is scheduled to be released after a December software,” the report says. This means it is “likely to arrive between January and March.” Mass production is set to begin soon.

Bloomberg notes that Apple had initially planned to release a new M4 Mac Studio around that same timeframe. That machine, however, is now “likely to come after a March software update, putting its debut between March and June.” A new Mac Pro with M4 is also in the works.

There are also new iPads on the way:

During the same spring product release cycle, Apple is planning to launch a revamped iPhone SE, fresh iPad Air models and upgraded iPad keyboards. In that same window, Apple is also now aiming to release 11th-generation entry-level iPads codenamed J481 and J482, the people said.

Next week, Apple is set to unveil M4 updates for the MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini. The new Mac mini will also feature a dramatic redesign, making it significantly smaller than the current model.
