Report Suggests Tom Schwartz Felt ‘Abandoned’ by Tom Sandoval Ahead of Bar Closure

It’s been a rough week for Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz. First, they announced they were closing Schwartz and Sandy’s. Then, Bravo dropped the bomb that the entire cast of Vanderpump Rules was getting replaced. Obviously, both of these outcomes can be directly linked back to Sandoval’s affair.

After taking both of those losses this week, a new report suggests that their friendship might also be in jeopardy. Issues at Schwartz and Sandy’s have been festering for a while, and a source close to the bar claims Schwartz was feeling “abandoned.”

When the news dropped that the bar would be closing by the end of 2024, Schwartzy shared a statement saying that the trio of owners decided to shut down after “careful consideration.” He didn’t share too many details, but an insider told The Sun that frustrations had been brewing before the closure.

“The Tom’s put their heart and soul into this restaurant. Schwartz especially gave it everything he had, his blood sweat, and tears,” the source explained. “It literally cost him his marriage, he did everything for it.”

On the other hand, they suggested that Sandoval hadn’t poured as much effort into keeping the bar afloat. For a while, there were rumors that he wasn’t even allowed inside. Schwartz became the bar’s mascot while Sandoval slipped into being more of a silent partner.

“Schwartz had a lot of ideas while Sandoval was off doing his own thing, I think Schwartz felt abandoned by him. [Sandoval] wasn’t around much and didn’t put in the same effort.”

A staffer reiterated those claims. They told the outlet that Sandoval would go “months” without showing up at the bar while Schwartz put in time nearly every day.

Meanwhile, Sandoval was too busy filming The Traitors, touring with his band, and looking for apartments with his girlfriend. He’s done everything but spend time with the business, and that purportedly left Schwartz in a rut. Now, the only thing they can all agree on is that the bar turned into one giant money pit.
